Blackboard Wines is a specialist wine wholesaler servicing the hospitality and traditional liquor sectors. With a nationwide sales team they called upon Sign Foundry to design and install graphics on their brand new cars which once complete were being sent across the country.

The Design Process:

When designing graphics on cars there are a few key points which need to be considered. They include colours (what will work with your logo), make of car (thinking about body lines) and purpose of the cars along with the message or details you would like to get across. In this case the brief was set, a simple clean and understated design with less is more approach. The cars where picked and ordered, all Honda’s (CRV, Accord and Civic’s).

We brain stormed ideas with the Blackboard team using the latest technology to give the best ‘realistic’ idea on what the cars will look like. This is a vital step to make sure we are all on the same page. With the design sorted, we needed to confirm the colours. Samples are made as ‘digital colouring’ is never the same as the real thing will give the best idea of the finished result.

Making it easy Process:

With the design getting the final sign off it was a waiting game for the cars to arrive. We want to make it as easy as possible for our client so organised delivery/pickup of the vehicles from Honda.

Production:

We were dealing with 3 different types of Honda’s, so extra care is taken to make sure the design is consistent across the different body lines. The graphics are cut/printed in house to suit the vehicles. Measurements were taken and double checked prior to production.

All work is carried out a trained graphic installer and the materials used are of the highest standard (Cast film). Using the right materials for the job is the biggest step as the wrong products can break down and fade in no time.

Final check off:

With all work that leaves the foundry floor vital steps are taken to confirm the job is done right before it leaves. This step includes a visual and technical check. We confirm the proof looks like the finished product, photos are taken and the vehicle is cleaned.

Delivery:

With the cars heading around the country we organized pickup and drop off’s. It is about making it easier for the client! The finished product looks amazing and something to be proud of.
